Health ICT Forum Report launched

The report on ICT’s Role in Healthcare Transformation was launched at HISI 2009 ICT’s Role in Healthcare Transformation. The Health ICT Forum was established in mid-2009 to report on the role that Healthcare ICT can play in delivering a world class health system to the citizens of Ireland.

The group comprised representatives from 17 companies engaged in the Healthcare ICT sector, ranging in size from large multinationals to local SMEs. The findings and recommendations are based on the national and international expertise of these companies.

The central message is that lives can be saved, patient care outcomes improved, and costs reduced through the effective use of ICT in the healthcare transformation process.

GariVo's Health Informatics experts played a key role in production of the report. We are very proud to be associated with it.

GariVo presents Taltrack project at HISI 2008

Garivo presented the results of our very successful Taltrack project. Taltrack leverages the existing WiFi Infrastructure and adds an extra dimension : location tracking. Patients going through surgery were tagged using WiFi tags. Nurses could moniter their patients' status and location in real time from computers anywhere in the hospital.

In a post implementation survey, nurses agreed the system could enhance patient safety and improve efficiency. Nurse managers appreciated the reports on patient flow which the system produces. These reports  provide valuable data to feed back into theatre scheduling and help to identify process  improvements.
